Born in Düsseldorf in 1979, Holger Kurt Jäger found his way to art through graffiti. The artist, who thinks in pictures, looks for inspiration in newspapers, magazinesand on the Internet. He leads the audience into surreal and fantastic dream worldsand seeks a bitingly ironic dialogue with him in his painting. His washcloth serieswith portraits of dictators and celebrities who have made questionable lifedecisions are legendary: “I choose people according to what kind of carversor asymmetries they have in their lives: Embarrassments, moral distortions, crimes, greed or power”, explains Jäger his intention. His more recent works include stylish young people in bright colours and surreal environments.
